Amy Kellogg accepting the Humanitarian Award at the Epilepsy Association’s 5th Annual Golf Outing
The Epilepsy Association was pleased to present the Humanitarian Award in Memory of Christopher Spirnak to Amy Kellogg at the 5th Annual Golf Outing on June 23rd, 2025.
Amy is a partner at BakerHostetler in Cleveland, Ohio where she concentrates her practice in commercial real estate law. Amy grew up in Avon Lake and is a graduate of Avon Lake High School, and received her BBA from the University of Toledo and her JD from The Ohio State University Michael E. Moritz College of Law.
She was diagnosed with petit mal epilepsy (absence seizures) when she was 5 years old. Amy served on the Epilepsy Association Board of Directors for several years alongside Christopher Spirnak’s mother, Diane, and held the role of Board President.
She is an active supporter of the Winter Walk and has not missed one yet in the event’s 20-year history (although she has shown up to a couple on crutches!) Each year, she collects donations and recruits walkers for Team BakerHostetler, which was the top corporate fundraising team in 2025. Amy and her team were able to raise over $4,000 for the 20th Winter Walk, and have raised nearly $60,000 for epilepsy services and education since the event first began.
2025 was the 4th year the Epilepsy Association has presented the Humanitarian Award in Memory of Christopher Spirnak. Chris was a truly valued member of the Epilepsy Association community who tragically passed away at the age of 31. Chris lived with epilepsy since childhood through adulthood, until surgery successfully stopped his seizures. He never forgot the painful experiences he had as a young person living with epilepsy and he channeled those experiences to help support others struggling to live with their epilepsy.
